Joint article with Dr Philip Eckardt in Osteopathie Welt 03/26
I am very pleased that a joint article by Dr Philip Eckardt and me has appeared in the current issue 03/26 of Osteopathie Welt.
Under the title “Neuroathletic Training and Neurofunctional Integration — Two Approaches That Combine Ideally” we explore how neurocentric testing, targeted stimuli and Neurofunctional Integration can be usefully connected.
The focus is an approach consistently guided by the nervous system's individual response: first test a function, then introduce a defined stimulus and check how the baseline test changes.

Considering neuroathletic training and Neurofunctional Integration together
Two different approaches sharing a focus on the immediate system response.
Neuroathletic training offers a wide range of ways to assess functions and use targeted visual, vestibular, proprioceptive or motor stimuli. Neurofunctional Integration complements it particularly when a stimulus does not produce the desired response and functional connections need closer consideration.
Through practical examples, we show why the focus should be how the individual responds, rather than an individual exercise or technique.
The shared basic ideaTest function → introduce stimulus → assess response → work further on functional connections where appropriate → retest.
A special publication for me
The article connects two areas that substantially shape my work today.
Working with Dr Philip Eckardt and publishing together means a great deal to me, because it reflects how my own professional path has developed in recent years: from neurocentric training towards an increasingly differentiated functional view of the nervous system.
I am therefore especially pleased that this perspective is now presented in a professional magazine for osteopathy, therapy and functional medicine.
