A conversation about my journey and work
In November, I joined Melanie and Ekin as a guest on the ‘Feel the Facts’ podcast. Episode 49 concerned neurocentric training and how perception and movement can be considered together.
I was particularly pleased that both explored complex questions understandably and personally. The result was a conversation interesting for people beyond those with a sporting background.
What we discuss in the episode
Mobility: Why movement does not depend only on the flexibility of individual muscles and why a before-and-after comparison can be interesting.
Sporting demands: How vision, orientation and body perception interact in precise and rapid actions.
Everyday life: The role small, specifically selected tasks can play for the visual, vestibular and proprioceptive systems.
My personal journey: I describe which experiences shaped my interest in this approach.
Who might find listening worthwhile
If you want to understand how I think about training, perception and functional relationships, the conversation provides a personal introduction. It is about a closer view of the particular situation, rather than a universal exercise.
Thank you to Melanie and Ekin for the invitation, interested questions and open exchange. You can find the linked original episode below.
