Standing in with impact – representing the Neurolog Akademie at the BDH conference
Briefly explained: At the BDH conference on 11 October 2025 in Gelsenkirchen, I delivered a practical workshop on Applied Neurofunction. Around 30 participants explored how different stimuli can change functional responses.

A practical workshop at ‘Let’s work’
On 11 October 2025, I had the opportunity to deliver a workshop at the BDH conference in Gelsenkirchen. From 15:15 to 16:45, around 30 participants worked with me on practical questions in Applied Neurofunction. I attended as a substitute for Dr. med. Philip Eckardt.
The long journey of around seven hours was worthwhile for the exchange. For me, it was a valuable opportunity to introduce part of my approach to an interested professional audience.
Not all touch is the same
The focus was different sensory stimuli: stroking, pressure, vibration, pulling, temperature and finely limited skin stimuli, for example. It was interesting how differently such information is perceived and how a selected function behaves in the subsequent comparison.
The basic principle was simple: a specific starting question, a targeted stimulus and the same re-test. This made the connection between input, processing and output practically experienceable. Behind the individual steps is a differentiated assessment system, rather than merely a collection of exercises.
Neuroanatomy as a guide to the next question
We discussed how functional relationships can structure the choice of an assessment route. We connected specific questions with targeted sensory stimuli and then assessed how the previously selected function changed.
My own story has strongly shaped my interest in this approach. I am all the more pleased when shared work turns theoretically sounding relationships into understandable questions.
Thank you for the curiosity and exchange
Many thanks to the organisers, to Dr. Eckardt for his trust and to all participants for their questions and committed experimentation. These encounters motivate me to keep teaching the content understandably and practically.
